National Museum of the History of Ukraine

The National Museum of the History of Ukraine is a leading museum institution in the country. It began its activities with an archaeological exhibition in August 1899 as the Museum of Antiquities and Arts.

The museum's exposition reflects the historical development of society in the territory of Ukraine from ancient times to the present day. Its collections include about 800,000 unique artifacts of history and culture: archaeological collections, valuable collections of cold and firearms, ethnography, glassware, porcelain, a numismatic collection, paintings, graphics, and sculptures. A branch of the institution is the Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine.

Since 2022, the museum's collection has been evacuated and it now operates as a series of permanent exhibitions. More information is available on the official website.
